About the piece:

A large group of students wearing red gathered on American University’s quad on Nov. 10 after walking out of their classes in protest of the administration’s response to the incident in Leonard Hall reported a week prior. Seniors Lillian Frame and Emily Minster led the walkout, which included testimonies from current and former students who said they felt the administration had ignored their concerns and mishandled Title IX cases. Organizers also presented a list of demands for the university, which included implementing a Survivor’s Bill of Rights, instating mandatory annual in-person sexual violence prevention training, hiring at least one trauma-informed counselor and updating the Title IX website monthly.
