“Hands Off” protest targets Trump’s second-term agenda

Thousands gathered on a cloudy day in D.C. as part of the growing “Hands Off!” movement against recent presidential actions.

Thousands of people rallied around the Washington Monument on the afternoon of April 6 to protest actions by the current Trump administration, including the mass firing of federal workers, immigration raids and Elon Musk’s involvement in the federal government. On a stage behind the Washington Monument, lawmakers including Rep. Jamie Raskin and various organizers addressed the crowd. Attendees around them quietly listened, save for the occasional call-and-response chant, cheers or boos for the Trump administration. Farther away, a group of protesters marched around the Monument chanting, “Hands Off! Dump Trump!” consistently for the majority of the rally.
