Thousands rally at the Lincoln Memorial days before Trump’s inauguration

Protestors from around the country gathered in Washington to voice their concerns for the new presidency at the People’s March.

Thousands rallied on Jan. 18 at the People’s March in Washington to advocate for women’s rights ahead of President Donald Trump’s second inauguration.

Activists showed up in support of various issues including reproductive rights, racial justice and climate change. Although there were far fewer attendees than at the first historic Women’s March of 2017 during Trump’s first term, protestors braved the cold weather and icy conditions to voice their concerns regarding social justice.

In the nation’s capital, where less than 7% of the population voted for Trump, demonstrators arrived with passionate signs and chants. Protestors gathered at various squares across Washington before marching together to the Lincoln Memorial, where organizers gave several speeches.
